Paleo Chili Lime Chicken Wings

Paleo Chili Lime Wings

These crispy baked chicken wings are paleo with a Whole30 option to sweeten the sauce, family friendly and a total crowd pleaser.

Chicken Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs cut chicken wings
  • Sea salt and black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp arrowroot or tapioca starch

Dressing Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 Tbsp ghee melted, or avocado oil
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp ancho chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp chipotle chili powder
  • Zest of 1 lime 
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp lime juice about 1 lime
  • Minced cilantro 
  • For serving- Paleo ranch dressing (optional) 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 450° F.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil, then pace a wire rack over the baking sheet.
  3. Place wings  in a large bowl. Sprinkle all over with the arrowroot, salt and pepper.
  4. Arrange wings rack and place in the middle rack of the preheated oven and bake at 450° F for 25-30 mins.
  5. While the wings bake- make the sauce. Whisk together the honey with the ghee or avocado oil, spices, salt, lime zest and juice.
  6. After 25 minutes, brush the wings with the sauce, leaving a little for after they bake.
  7. Continue to bake for 10-12 more minutes. Remove from oven and brush with any extra sauce. Top with cilantro and serve with Paleo ranch dressing. Enjoy!
